January 13, 2020Senate President Roger Roth (R-Appleton) holds Press Conference to announce legislation designating May 14th as Hmong-Lao Veterans Day to honor those soldiers who fought for freedom in Southeast Asia.
Wisconsin Lao Veterans of America (WLVA) was formed to collaborate with the Wisconsin Government to provide quality opportunities to recognize the WLVA who gave their lives to replace many hundreds of American soldiers in Laos.
WLVA is envisioned as an organization to oversee and provide services in Wisconsin as a peaceful home for Hmong-Lao Veterans.
We are committed to the Hmong-Lao veterans and are empowered to meet today's challenges and realize tomorrow's dreams for the following purposes:
Assist and serve the Hmong-Lao veterans who served under the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in conducting workshops, conferences, seminars and other events regarding the needs of Hmong-Lao Veterans.
Promote positive veteran affairs and other related activities
Help Hmong-Lao veterans adjust to their lives in the American culture and earn US citizenship.
To honor funeral services for WLVA deceased members.
